Angel Bath Bomb Review

Image
I first heard of this product when I was taking a look through my local pharmacy. The product looked inviting- some what like a big forrero rocher. And, seeing as I'd recently used up my last bath bomb and had not yet ordered more, I decided to try this one. The bath bomb itself is white, covered in a clear, gold dotted plastic which was then wrapped in gold foil. It had no scent or colour, which turned my bath a cloudy grey. This alone was rather disappointing as I prefer baths that at least smell delicious and inviting. Adding to my disappointment, even the fizz of the bath bomb was rather.. non existent. It just dissolved with little to show. Trying not to be disheartened too much, I jumped in with high hopes. Skip forward 45 mins  and my skin felt a little bit better (and my fingers wrinkled), however my skin  didn't  feel as good as it does after using other brands. All in all, I  didn't  enjoy this product at all. I know there are people out there tha...

'one size fits pearl' review

Image
I've read a few different blog reviews about this product- which led me to my most recent purchase. Maybelline color whisper- 'one size fits pearl'. There are quite a few different colours in the color whisper range (8 I've found so far) but; seeing as they only has the one colour left on the shelves when I visited my local K-mart (the big spender I am)- I didn't really have much of a choice as to which colour I wanted to try. However, I am renowned for being extremely indecisive, so this is more of a positive than it is a negative.  'one size fits pearl', in its solid for (stick?), is a light pinkish/coralish colour, with tiny little bits of glitter and a shine to give it a 'pearl' like look. When applied, the colour is practically translucent, however, if you keep applying it a few times over, your lips appear to be a softer baby pink colour. It adds shine and a slight shimmer to your lips and is extremely light weight. It glides on easily, has no ...

Starting Fresh

Hello all! Lets be honest- choosing to partake in the August Photo Challenge was a silly mistake on my part. Why? Because between working full time five days a week, part time on alternating weekends and trying to keep up with my course work- finding the time (and energy) to take, edit and upload a photo (not to mention writing a short piece to go with it) was a difficult task, to say the least. I had pretty much set myself up to fail, and I did after a mere five days. Pretty pathetic, right?  Wrong.  Those five days taught me a lot about myself, my limitations and my aspirations. Sometimes being too keen can actually do more harm than good. I found myself stressing over it, telling myself I HAD to upload something, which was just making my work look and feel shabby and I never really achieved that feeling of success or pride over what I had done. I felt limited in what I could say and do and overall, I really just didn't want to be creative.  In short, those five days ma...

Self Portraiture

Image
Hello all! Today's subject was self portraiture- a subject that I actually do quite a lot. But, instead of the usual 'selfies' I take, I wanted to change things up a little bit and play around with some different angles, lighting and colour. Below is my favorite image taken. Being Lazy

Image
Hello all! So today's theme was 'lazy' and I must say I relate to this theme a LOT. Why? Because I'm always bumming around on the internet trying to kill time and procrastinate. So I thought it would be fitting to base this photo off my two favorite 'lazy' inducing things: my bed and my laptop. I attempted to add a sort of grungy black and white effect to these series of photos as I wanted it to look a lot more rough and plain. Honestly, I'm not particularly keen on this set, so I've decided to sit down and highlight the areas in which I can improve. I really like the idea of this, I just don't think I achieved the final image I was going for. I guess I still have a lot of learning to do! Let me know your thoughts and CC's below- maybe you can help me on my learning curve. Tomorrows theme : Self portrait.

Hands

Image
Hello all! Today is day three of my August Photo Challenge- the theme: hands. I'll be honest; I didn't really think much on this one. Why? Because I've had a photo on file for a while that I just haven't shared. I've been sitting on the fence with this one, trying to decide if I like it or not. I took this one with my best friend during an Alice in Wonderland themed shoot (a subject I would LOVE to revisit with some fresh new ideas). This was easily my favorite shoot done so far and, just because I loved it so much, I'll attach some of my favorite photos taken that day below. Comment below any themes you would like to see me do. Tomorrows theme: Lazy. xx

Colour: Blue

Image
Hello all! I'll be honest; when I got to taking a photo for this subject, I really wasn't sure what to take. After a while of brainstorming I came up with the idea below... Glow-sticks. How did I get this? I took the cover off a pedestal fan, sticky taped a bunch of glow sticks to the blades and turned it on. Word of warning, if you aren't using really good tape I suggest the keep the fan on low as you may have a few flyaway glow-sticks. Then all you have to do it turn off the lights and slow your shutter speed right down. It took me quite a few goes to get this result- so don't worry if it doesn't quite work for you at first. Play around with some different settings and see what you can come up with! Tomorrows theme: Hands. xx

Before/After - August Photo Challenge!

Image
Hello; and welcome to my blog! I've been wanting to start up a blog for months but, even though I'm pretty good at babbling on about r andom subjects, I wasn't really sure where to start. After a while I finally decided to stick to som ething simple to get the ball rolling; and thus have chosen to do the August photo challenge. This challenge will see me post one photo a day on a subject previously chosen; however I have swapped up some of the subjects to make it a little less repetitive and a little more creative. So, without further delay, here is day 1; before/after. Before After Okay; so I know its not ONE picture- but it was pretty hard to try and get both pictures into the one collage without making it look funny.. Background story? I was bored and saw someone do levitation photos on tumblr. Low and behold I tried to have a go at it and this was the finished result. Looking at it now I feel I could have touched up a few things...
